Without a doubt Snowmobiling in the Eagle Valley is critical to the survival of our economy. Without this draw to our small tourist community through the winter months we might be hard pressed to find an open business in Sicamous between October and April. Our community often views the efforts of the Eagle Valley Snowmobile Club through a very narrow lens; assuming that we only benefit snowmobilers and specific businesses in our community.
A more accurate description of this non-profit society is that it is a Recreation Sector Economic Development Group. The hardworking staff and volunteers, as well as the support from our 400+ members make it possible to continue to market this community as a top-ranking destination for winter tourism in British Columbia. In 2020 – despite our global economy falling on desperate and challenging times – the Eagle Valley Snowmobile Club undertook an independent economic impact study to find out just how much snowmobiling matters to Sicamous, and we invite you to take a look at what they uncovered.
