Owlhead Riding Area

This popular area features a great chalet and varied riding terrain for everyone, from novices to extreme sledders. Its high elevation (over 2,000 meters) ensures good riding until late spring. Be sure to  check out Super Bowl and Video Hill for some serious hill climbing.

It is approximately 21 kilometres to the chalet along well groomed trails. Turn south off the Trans Canada at the Petro-Canada and Esso gas stations and turn left immediately at Maclean/MacPherson Rd. Take this road for approximately 0.5 km to the parking area at the start of the Owlhead Forest Service Road. If there is no snow in the valley, it may be necessary to drive to the snow line. Please do not drive over groomed trails!

A connector trail is planned to the Blue Lake area, however; this will not be opened for the 2007/2008 season. Access to hunter's Range is possible from Owlhead, however; do not attempt this unmarked route without consulting with local riders first.
